At Integrative Dental, we have implemented a microscope. This instrument has a profound impact on dental hygiene treatment. Here at Integrative Dental, we like to educate our patients of the oral systematic link. The oral microbiome must be addressed.
Biofilm is a collection of various microorganism adhering and growing on a surface. In a dental biofilm, bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites can be present. Regular disruption of these biolfilms is paramount in the prevention of disease. The microscope will show you visually what is in your biofilm. We collect a plaque sample and place it under the microscope.
