New Patient Policy
At Integrative Dental, we treat our patients with exceptional clinical care and service. Dr Phillip Stein has developed and studied clinical protocols currently not found in any other practices in Australia. Due to the success of Dr Phillip Stein's treatments and the rigorous protocols he has developed, all new patients must comply with our New Patient Protocols and Diagnostic Policies
While we would love to accommodate all our new patients, there is no flexibility in the new patient diagnostic policies. Please read carefully the below New Patient Appointment and what your first, full examination will involve.
Your First Appointment will include
Conventionally we check your teeth and gums but there is a whole lot more involved in your overall wellness, and it’s link with the mouth. It is well established that there is a link between oral disease and cardiac disease, diabetes, preterm birth and even Alzheimer's disease. During your first appointment, we will test many factors.
One of these are your PH levels. The PH of the mouth is a reflection of the PH of the body an acidic PH is an environment conducive to serious diseases (cancers etc.)
Did you know?
There are over 700 species of bacteria, funguses, viruses and parasites in the mouth. (Journal of Oral Maxillofacial Pathology Jan.Apr.2019). So we do an assessment of your PH and microbiological assessment using saliva.
To get an idea of your metabolism, we do a vitamin D blood glucose measurement. What do these have to do with your teeth? Adequate vitamin D levels are essential for bone health and optimal blood sugar levels are important for both gum health and sleep.
In addition, the examination will include a structural component. Your bite is the top end of the skeletal system. Any imbalance can lead to a variety of symptoms, the type you would typically seek Chiropractic care for headaches, neck pain, jaw pain, and back pain.
Bite correction, where appropriate, using computer-aided information can lead to a correction of these debilitating symptoms, symptoms that can make it difficult to be the best version of you. Also, as the jaw joint is next to the ear, a jaw sitting in less-than-ideal positions can cause ear symptoms, such as, ringing and a feeling of being blocked and an inability to equalize. Thus, a bite analysis is a critical part of the exam.
Oral cancer screening is also performed and multifunctional analysis using spectrophotometry technology. The aim is to prevent disease where possible.
